Since it has come up from a few of my friends that have visited this humble blog I thought I would say a few things about me, the main contributor to this site. I was your normal American male eating a normal American diet full of soda and processed foods for much of my life. I am basically working 60+ hours a week and am as active as any normal male, but that changed about two years ago.
I started to work more and more and my activity dropped. Further my ‘normal’ diet of processed and fast foods started to catch up with me fast. Unhealthy, fatigued, over worked, stressed out and 207 pounds I felt I needed a change. My wife also wanted to make many changes in our life and together we researched what we could do.
Now I am not a doctor nor do I have any expertise other my general search for knowledge and wanting to better my life and others. So any advice I give on here unless stated otherwise will be based on personal research and studies. Having said that, so much of alternative and healthy medicines are this way and I hope my own personal journey will help others which is why I wish to share it.
So back to where I was, 207 pounds and unhealthy. My wife, wanting to make changes switched our diet to predominately organic foods cutting out nearly all processed foods. In addition we started juicing vegetables and fruits in the morning. Only pure organic fruits and veggies. Delicious. In a very short time, all while still working sometimes 100 hours in a week, I started losing weight and feeling better. Within a year I was down to 165 pounds.
Now I am still not working out as much as I should at that time so my weight loss was simply amazzing to me. Those around me that witnessed it all asked how I did it. All I could say was a simply ate better and for me that was the truth. However, I noticed that my diet was expensive and it was not easy for everyone to follow it. This is where we started to look for cheaper ways to eat as well as we could.
We started using more and more home remedies and looked for simpler, easier, healthier, more life sustaining ways to live. While I am sitll going through this tranformation process we have learned a lot along the way and I simply wanted to share it with the world.
So please enjoy what is here and comment on wht you can. I am always looking to better myself, others and the world and any suggestion or correction on what I have I am happy to hear.

I have definitely noticed a changed in weight on you. This diet is working, I have changed my diet a little in what ways I can, and I have been feeling better than what I use to. Less tired, more focused on things. Wish I could do more to completely change my diet to all Organic.

It takes time to do that and it also takes money. I do hope that I can share some tips on how to best save money while still eating healthy.
I fail and eat the wrong food all the time, but I still try my best.

Dude great post! I used to weigh 170 pound and was about 30 pounds overweight… But I changed up my diet just like you and joined a martial arts class and burned off those 30 pounds of fat in just under a year. It’s quite incredible to achieve something like losing body weight.

Wow, congratulations!!
I am still losing. I am back up a little but started a new workout program and eating better and better. Its a little hard during the Holiday season of course.
What kind of martial arts training are you taking? I did Sorenji Kenpo for quite some time. I was never really good at it though.
